Ordinary Courage: Lessons in Love, Shame and Worthiness

Six Weeks with Brené Brown and Jen Lemen

Join us for the last session of 2011.

What if you didn’t have to keep hustling to make everyone happy in order to feel like you’re enough? What if you could feel loved with or without your compliance with external demands? Join Brené Brown and Jen Lemen as together we explore how everyday, ordinary courage can unlock a sense of worthiness and belonging that we were meant for since the day we were born.

In this gentle, research-based exploration of love and belonging, discover how feelings of shame get in the way and how we can learn to transform shame into an opportunity for genuine heart-felt connection. Learn about the power of owning our story and the path that unfolds when we decide to cultivate shame-resilience instead of allowing shame to send us hiding. Experiment with opening up to self-compassion and love from the people that matter to us most, as we share in hands-on weekly activities designed to help us experience a genuine sense of belonging and love.

The class will reference Brené’s work as a qualitative researcher as well as insights hard-won from her willingness to bring the data home into her own everyday experience. Jen will draw on her experiences as an international storycatcher and personal advocate to create a loving and thought-provoking classroom environment where you can focus deeply on the subject at hand.

Students who register for Ordinary Courage: Lessons in Love, Shame and Worthiness will receive:

• 6-week access to a password-protected classroom
• Six brand new professionally recorded audio conversations with Brené and Jen, outlining the keys to shame resilience
• Weekly lessons, activities and reflections designed to help you uncover your own ordinary courage
• A working knowledge of what triggers shame and how to respond
• An invitation to embrace your own ordinary courage so that you can open the door to the sense of love and belonging you deserve
