The last few days have been a whirlwind! Thank you SO much for making this little miracle happened. In less than three days, we raised almost $12K, enough for Sabi to purchase not only the 500 blankets, 300 tarps, medical supplies, but also many, many bags of rice and other food supplies as well as transportation costs. With your help, Sabi and her crew have criss-crossed the city of Kathmandu, securing everything needed, while tremors continued and prices sky-rocketed.
Our initial promise from the government to use a private helicopter was thwarted by politics and red tape, so while Subhash applies pressure to officials to create a better policy, Sabi is making alternate plans to get the goods on the road.
Now more than ever our friends need to know that no matter what cracks or breaks, what is more than secure is our love, our devotion and our commitment to being in this struggle together, even if sometimes we feel helpless and don’t know what to do. This is our task as a global family finding our humanity once again: to learn the art of being present and allowing every feeling that arises so that we can appropriately stirred to compassion or stillness as needed.
Thank you, each and everyone of you for your part in this task. We are leaving the fund open so that we can finance the next phase of the mission once Sabi assesses from the ground exactly what is needed next.
For Hopeful World and the friends of Subhash and Sabi, we offer a deep bow and send so much deep gratitude and love,
Jen Lemen, Sabi Gurung, Subhash Ghimire, Miluka Gunaratna, Olivia Wong, and Stacey & Sanjay Patel
UPDATE! As of noon today in Kathmandu, Sabi is on her way with all the supplies! Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers!!!
