When Renu was a girl living in India, her father loved to take her on the weekends to a little studio to have her picture made. On those walks on busy city streets, Renu was struck by all the street children without shoes or proper clothes and sometimes asked her dad if she could bring them home to their house for showers. Now, so many years later, Renu runs Koseli, a full-service arts-based school in Nepal designed to integrate slum children into mainstream society. Every morning the children bathe at school and look forward to learning in an environment that values their learning and perhaps more importantly, their future.
