We Explore New Ways of Learning
POWER UP Hope is an ongoing PAR (participatory research project) conducted by girls to uncover the unspoken hopes, dreams and aspiration of a new generation of youth ages 14-18 in Rwanda and the United States. Conceived in collaboration with Grace Bizuru (18), Mutoni Bizuru (15) and Madeleine Lemen (15), this hands-on girl-lead, action-based project combines personal interviews, story collection, community organizing, skills assessment and personal empowerment practices to uncover undocumented systems of collaboration and sharing in the global south. POWER UP Hope Researchers receive training in best PAR practices, collect data on systems of collaborative learning and make recommendations for community based economic development projects.
We Create Solutions that Integrate Ancient Wisdom and New Technology
Zipline is a mobile money platform that moves money friend to friend, hand-to-hand via text. We designed Zipline to help people share money in a way that reflects the kind of human connection, belonging and caring that has always made trust the most important social currency. With 70% of the global population sharing cash inside relational networks of support instead of traditional banking, we believe that Zipline is an important step toward building a new infrastructure of sharing that can change the way we think, feel and live together.
